New IRS Payroll Tables

Due to changes made in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 the IRS has developed new payroll withholding tax tables.  The new withholding is mandated as of April 1, 2009.  The IRS has asked to employers to use the new tables as soon as possible.  Digit has updated all of their payroll tax calculations on March 19, 2009.  Therefore your employees may see an increase in their net checks.

The IRS has recommended that all employees receive a Notice to Employees which explains how the new law affects their withholding.  Employees do not need to fill out a new Form W-4.  These new tables have been developed to apply for withholding for all employees and take into account all current tax provisions.  Employees may submit a new Form W-4 to ensure that the correct amount of tax is being withheld form their pay.  To assist your employees in calculating their W-4 Form, the IRS has developed a W-4 Calculator which may be used to calculate their W-4 Form
